Home care worker for respite care and housekeeping

The home care worker assists the person receiving care in their daily life or replaces the family caregiver in their responsibilities by providing daily care and helping them maintain their skills:

  • Stimulation through games, conversation, or exercises;
  • Assistance with transfers, getting up and going to bed, eating, and hygiene;
  • Supervision.
  • Maintenance of rooms, kitchen, and bathroom;
  • Cleaning floors and surfaces;
  • Maintenance of clothing and bedding;
  • Assistance with meal preparation;
  • Running essential errands.

Description of duties:
The successful candidate may also be responsible for certain domestic tasks, including laundry, housekeeping, ironing, shopping, and preparing meals and snacks.

The person sought knows:

  • Be attentive, friendly, and patient
  • Demonstrate empathy, resourcefulness, and initiative
  • Have relevant experience with seniors or people with disabilities (physical or intellectual) – an asset
  • Good physical form.
