The Financial Assistance Program for Domestic Help Services
How large of a tax credit am I eligible for?
Available to all Quebec residents aged 18 or over, The Financial Assistance Program for Domestic Help Services allows you to benefit from a reduced hourly rate charged for domestic help services by social economy businesses. These services include housekeeping work, laundry, meal preparation, and accompanying you when shopping.

Any prices shown in the video or articles are for example purposes only.
This reduction can be received in two ways:
- A fixed reduction of $4 for each hour of service rendered is available to anyone eligible for the program
- Additional subsidies—ranging from $2.63 to $21.04 for each hour of service rendered—may be available, which take into account the income and family situation of people aged 65 or over, or people under 65 with a referral from an integrated health and social services centre (CISSS) or an integrated university health and social services centre (CIUSSS)
Thus, the beneficiary only pays the difference between the rate charged by the company and the amount of assistance granted by this subsidy. The Financial Assistance Program for Domestic Help Services (PEFSAD) is an incentive to use social economy businesses offering home help services.
